The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks -Review

Title: The Last Song
Author: Nicholas Sparks
Page Number: 406
Genre: YA
Synopsis: Seventeen year old Veronica “Ronnie” Miller’s life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alientated from her parents, especially her father…until her mother decides it would be in everyone’s best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie’s father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story of love on many levels—first love, love between parents and children (~Amazon.com)

My Review: I thought the pacing of the book was very slow. I didn’t really like Ronnie, she grew very little on me. She developed as a character very little and I felt like it was all very predictable. The only character I really enjoyed was her little brother Jonah. He made the novel A BIT more enjoyable. I must admit I saw the movie before hand, and I didn’t like it very much either. I read it because a good friend of my loves Miley and reccommended. But I DO NOT reccomend it. I’ve read plenty better books. I thought the romance happened way too quickly and it wasn’t very real. I also thought Nicholas Sparks writing was very amatuer and first-time-author-esqu. It was the first of his novels I’ve read and it will be the last. I didn’t like his writing at all. And I will just stick to the movies instead.

My Rating: 1/5 -Didn't Like It
